A RESOLUTION
Honoring the City of Hudson on its Two Hundred Twenty-
fifth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the City of Hudson on the jubilant 2
occasion of its Two Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary; and 3
WHEREAS, Since David Hudson established a settlement in his name 4
in the center of his land in the Western Reserve in 1799, its 5
residents have experienced dramatic growth and change, and yet, 6
commendably, even as they have embraced the promise of a bright 7
future, they have never relinquished their appreciation for the 8
worthiest virtues of the past. Without sacrificing their sense of 9
tradition in the name of progress, the people of Hudson have managed 10
to nurture a fresh perspective and a positive outlook that endear this 11
distinctive place to all who know it well; and 12
WHEREAS, Two hundred twenty-five years after it was founded, the 13
City of Hudson still radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all its 14
own, and this auspicious milestone provides an opportunity to reflect 15
on the unique history and tremendous achievements of this remarkable 16
community. Clearly, it is a place of many engaging qualities, and its 17
schools, businesses, and civic organizations embody and thrive upon 18
the values of which our flag is an emblem; and 19
WHEREAS, Every state depends upon such vibrant, durable 20
communities as Hudson for its own survival and stability. In the years 21
to come, the city is sure to remain on its admirable course, 22
continuously transforming challenges into opportunities; therefore be 23

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 25

Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the City 26
of Hudson as it commemorates its Two Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary 27
and offer our best wishes for its perennial good fortune; and be it 28

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Hudson. 31
