                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring the Hiland High School baseball team on winning
              the 2024 Division IV State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Hiland High School baseball team    2
as the 2024 Division IV State Champion; and                              3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Hiland High School baseball team are    4
exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly           5
exceptional competitors. During the 2024 season, the Hawks overcame      6
the squad from Fort Recovery High School with a score of 3-2 to win      7
the 2024 Division IV State Championship, their second consecutive        8
state crown. The unwavering commitment of the players and coaches has    9
earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving of      10
high praise; and                                                         11
     WHEREAS, Coach Chris Dages has demonstrated remarkable energy,      12
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Hiland High School baseball    13
team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding   14
accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have   15
distinguished themselves on the diamond, and he has received respect     16
and admiration from all who know him; and                                17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    19
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has     20
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the     21
Hiland High School baseball team have gained discipline and              22
perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;          23
therefore be it                                                          24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General    25

As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the          26
Hiland High School baseball team as the 2024 Division IV State             27
Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this        28
fine squad; and be it further                                              29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Hiland High School            31
baseball team.                                                             32
