A RESOLUTION
Honoring Grant Harrison as the 2024 Division II State
Champion in the boys pole vault.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Grant Harrison on winning the 2024 2
Division II State Championship in the boys pole vault; and 3
WHEREAS, A junior member of the New Richmond High School track and 4
field team, Grant Harrison is deserving of praise for his remarkable 5
athletic gifts and indomitable spirit. At this year’s Division II 6
State Meet, he put his talent on display by clearing 16 feet, 6 inches 7
in the pole vault to win the title, and he was named to the 2024 All- 8
Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference first team in boys 9
track as the Field Event Person of the Year. Understandably, the 10
strength, stamina, and skill that he has exhibited has earned him many 11
admirers; and 12
WHEREAS, Throughout the season, Grant Harrison could always be 13
counted on to shine, and by maintaining his morale, composure, and 14
good sportsmanship, he has gained the respect of even his most 15
determined rivals. Indeed, his involvement in sports has enabled him 16
to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and 17
in the process, his exceptional prowess has made all those who have 18
supported him very proud; and 19
WHEREAS, We are pleased to pay tribute to Grant Harrison on his 20
stalwart accomplishment. The maturity and experience he has 21
accumulated through his participation in track and field will greatly 22
aid him in meeting future challenges, and his unwavering commitment to 23
excellence has established a notable legacy at New Richmond High 24
School; therefore be it 25

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Grant Harrison 27
on his state championship in the pole vault and look with optimism for 28
his continued success; and be it further 29
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Grant Harrison. 31
