A RESOLUTION
Honoring Western Reserve Academy
on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
Western Reserve Academy as it commemorates its Bicentennial, May 31, 3
2024; and 4
WHEREAS, The students, staff, and alumni of Western Reserve 5
Academy can be justly proud, for as they take part in this event to 6
recognize the school’s Two Hundredth Anniversary, they can rest 7
assured that it has become one of the area’s most beloved institutions 8
of learning. We are certain that in the years to come, WRA’s educators 9
will continue to help their students become capable and well-rounded 10
individuals; and 11
WHEREAS, A coeducational boarding and day school that offers 12
students in ninth- through twelfth-grades a distinctive college 13
preparatory education, Western Reserve Academy has championed 14
ambitious standards and has encouraged the lofty goals of its 15
scholars. Indeed, the school has introduced countless young people to 16
the benefits of knowledge, the delights of friendship, and the value 17
of self-reliance, and it has never experienced a shortage of able 18
instructors, efficient administrators, or diligent pupils who could be 19
relied upon to nurture and enrich each other; and 20
WHEREAS, The remarkable people who currently direct and sustain 21
Western Reserve Academy and its closely-knit scholastic community have 22
not only cared for its physical structure but have also initiated and 23
supported its many programs. They serve those who attend with vision 24
and vigor and prove daily that they understand the importance of 25
perpetuating the virtues of the past, even while embracing the ideals 26

of the future; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 29
applaud Western Reserve Academy in honor of its Bicentennial and 30
salute all those who have supported it over the years; and be it 31
further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Western Reserve 34
Academy. 35
