A RESOLUTION
Honoring Evan M. Hill on being selected as
the 2023 Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
Evan M. Hill as the 2023 State Trooper of the Year for the Ohio State 3
Highway Patrol; and 4
WHEREAS, Evan Hill has combined civic concern and commitment with 5
selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the field of law 6
enforcement. Joining the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2016 and 7
assigned to the Canton Post his entire career, he advanced to receive 8
certification as a drug recognition expert, and he has followed in the 9
footsteps of his father and grandfather to serve as an exemplary law 10
enforcement officer. He has been honored by fellow troopers for his 11
outstanding service, leadership abilities, professional ethics, and 12
courteous treatment of others, as well as for his enthusiastic work 13
attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public; and 14
WHEREAS, In being selected for this noteworthy distinction, Evan 15
Hill has been acknowledged as a remarkable member of the Ohio State 16
Highway Patrol. He has expended countless hours and seemingly 17
inexhaustible energy in the interest of others, and it is through the 18
unsurpassed efforts and consistent support of conscientious 19
individuals such as he that our state has remained responsive to the 20
diverse needs of its residents; and 21
WHEREAS, Demonstrating a sincere concern for the future of the 22
Stark County area, Evan Hill has given back to the community far more 23
than he has gleaned, and his selfless endeavors stand as the hallmark 24
of responsible public service. He has set an example of humanitarian 25
service worthy of emulation, and we commend him for his dedication to 26

our state; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 29
applaud Evan M. Hill on his exemplary accolade and salute him as one 30
of Ohio’s finest law enforcement officers; and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Evan M. Hill. 33
