A RESOLUTION
Honoring The University of Toledo men's tennis team
on winning the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend The University of 2
Toledo men's tennis team on securing the 2024 Mid-American Conference 3
Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, The University of Toledo men's tennis team has achieved a 5
tremendous feat in winning its second consecutive Mid-American 6
Conference Championship crown as well as securing an automatic berth 7
into the 2024 NCAA Division I Championship tournament. The Rockets’ 8
strong performance, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led 9
the squad to this outstanding victory, and the group has earned the 10
appreciation and admiration of many; and 11
WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of The University of 12
Toledo men's tennis team are fine examples of what can be attained by 13
a group of hard-working young people supported by a dedicated coaching 14
staff such as the one led by Al Wermer. Throughout extensive 15
conditioning and training, the members have developed into dynamic 16
competitors, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and 17
WHEREAS, With great admiration, we congratulate the athletes who 18
comprise The University of Toledo men's tennis team, for they have 19
overcome many formidable opponents and displayed tremendous prowess. 20
Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their future challenges, 21
they will take with them the lessons of comradery, diligence, and 22
discipline; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 25

heartily salute The University of Toledo men's tennis team as the 2024 26
Mid-American Conference Champion and praise the strength of this 27
program and its participating athletes; and be it further 28
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The University of 30
Toledo men's tennis team. 31
