A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team
as the 2024 Division II State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Purcell 2
Marian High School girls basketball team on winning the 2024 Division 3
II State Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 5
Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team have combined talent 6
and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish 7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable 8
dedication, the Cavaliers have worked diligently toward attaining 9
ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they defeated a 10
tough Laurel School team by the score of 79-52 to win this year’s 11
Division II State Championship, their third consecutive title; and 12
WHEREAS, The Cavaliers’ achievements and leadership are a 13
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the 14
players, their families, their school, their community, and their 15
coach, Jamar Mosley. In leading his team to victory, Coach Mosley has 16
not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest 17
but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, 18
perseverance, and camaraderie; and 19
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 20
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 21
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach 22
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have 23
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in 24
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 25

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 27
commend the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team on its 28
tremendous season and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s 29
finest citizens; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Purcell Marian 32
High School girls basketball team. 33
