A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jaylynn Parker on her record setting fish.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Jaylynn Parker for catching the 2
largest fish in Ohio; and 3
WHEREAS, A talented and motivated individual, Jaylynn Parker 4
certainly made her mark when she caught her record-setting 101-pound, 5
56-inch blue catfish on April 7, 2024. In setting the state record for 6
the biggest fish caught since the Ohio Division of Wildlife began 7
keeping records, she has achieved a rare feat that is worthy of 8
commendation, and it is our hope that her example will encourage 9
others to take up this popular pastime, thereby growing the sport of 10
fishing within Ohio; and 11
WHEREAS, Jaylynn Parker’s accomplishments are a justifiable source 12
of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on her but also on her 13
family and her community. Through her tremendous efforts, she has not 14
simply set a mark for others to try to attain but has also contributed 15
to the proud heritage of our state; and 16
WHEREAS, In all of her efforts, Jaylynn Parker has displayed 17
commendable degree of poise, steadfastness, and drive. She has 18
exhibited a sincere desire to achieve her full potential, and we are 19
certain this achievement is just the first of many that will 20
distinguish her life. We look forward to seeing what her future holds; 21
therefore be it 22
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 23
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Jaylynn Parker 24
on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest young 25
citizens; and be it further 26
