A RESOLUTION
Relative to the election of Jodi Whitted to fill the 1
vacancy in the membership of the House of 2
Representatives created by the resignation of Jessica 3
E. Miranda of the 28th House District. 4
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF
OHIO:
WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution 5
provides for the filling of a vacancy in the membership of the House 6
of Representatives by election by the members of the House of 7
Representatives who are affiliated with the same political party as 8
the person last elected to the seat which has become vacant; and 9
WHEREAS, Jessica E. Miranda of the 28th House District, has 10
resigned as a member of the House of Representatives of the 135th 11
General Assembly effective April 13, 2024, thus creating a vacancy in 12
the House of Representatives; therefore be it 13
RESOLVED, By the members of the House of Representatives who are 14
affiliated with the Democrat party that Jodi Whitted, Democrat, having 15
the qualifications set forth in the Ohio Constitution and the laws of 16
Ohio to be a member of the House of Representatives from the 28th 17
House District, is hereby elected, effective May 8, 2024, pursuant to 18
Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution, as a member of the 19
House of Representatives from the 28th House District, to fill the 20
vacancy created by the unexpired portion of the term of said Jessica 21
E. Miranda ending on December 31, 2024; and be it further 22

As Offered
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the pages 23
of the Journal of the House of Representatives together with the yeas 24
and nays of the members of the House of Representatives affiliated 25
with the Democrat party voting on the resolution, and that the Clerk 26
of the House of Representatives shall certify the resolution and vote 27
on its adoption to the Secretary of State. 28
