                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Gwen Huddle
         as a 2023 National Lutheran Cross Country Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Gwen Huddle on            2
securing the 2023 National Lutheran Cross Country Championship; and       3
     WHEREAS, An eighth-grade student at St. Paul Lutheran School, Gwen   4
Huddle is deserving of admiration, for her outstanding ability and        5
spirited drive as well as her quickness and tenacity have                 6
distinguished her as a superior athlete. Throughout the 2023 season,      7
she gained the respect and admiration of all those who have witnessed     8
her in action, and she has truly proven herself to be a talented long     9
distance runner; and                                                      10
     WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment   11
more than cross country running, and athletes such as Gwen Huddle         12
exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any sport,            13
including discipline, agility, conditioning, and focus. A tenacious       14
competitor, she has conscientiously applied herself to the quest for      15
excellence, and in the process, her exceptional prowess has made the      16
Crusaders community and her family and friends very proud; and            17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future     18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and     19
the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a       20
valuable tool. Through her participation in sports, Gwen Huddle has       21
learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest           22
competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her              23
throughout her lifetime; therefore be it                                  24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay       26
tribute to Gwen Huddle on her stalwart performance in national             27
competition and offer best wishes for continued success; and be it         28
further                                                                    29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Gwen Huddle.               31
