                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Western Reserve Academy boys basketball team
              on securing the 2024 National Prep Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Western Reserve Academy boys     2
basketball team on winning the 2024 National Prep Championship; and      3
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the   4
Western Reserve Academy boys basketball team have combined talent and    5
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish        6
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable              7
dedication, the Pioneers have worked diligently toward attaining         8
ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they defeated       9
four tough teams to win this year’s National Prep Championship and       10
finished the season with an impressive 32-5 record; and                  11
     WHEREAS, The Pioneers’ achievements and leadership are a            12
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the           13
players, their families, their school, their community, and their        14
coach, Matt Garvey. In leading his team to victory, Coach Garvey has     15
not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest     16
but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination,            17
perseverance, and camaraderie; and                                       18
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   19
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased     20
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach   21
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have   22
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in    23
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it                    24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General    25

As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Western         26
Reserve Academy boys basketball team on its tremendous season and          27
salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be     28
it further                                                                 29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Western Reserve Academy       31
boys basketball team.                                                      32
