A RESOLUTION
Honoring Hayden Hughes on winning a 2024 Division II State
Wrestling Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to commend Hayden Hughes as the 2024 Division II 2
State Wrestling Champion in the 138-pound weight class; and 3
WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Hayden Hughes is 4
deserving of recognition for his exemplary accomplishments as a member 5
of the Graham High School boys wrestling team. An exceptional athlete, 6
he outscored his opponent 5-3 to secure this year’s Division II State 7
Championship crown in the 138-pound weight class, and his noteworthy 8
record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others; and 9
WHEREAS, Through his participation in wrestling, Hayden Hughes has 10
learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and 11
good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him 12
throughout his life. Through his outstanding efforts, he has inspired 13
countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and he has set 14
an example worthy of emulation; and 15
WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of 16
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards 17
of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable 18
educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of 19
countless youth, we are happy to congratulate such a fine athlete as 20
Hayden Hughes; therefore be it 21
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 22
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Hayden Hughes 23
on his state championship and extend best wishes for continued 24
success; and be it further 25
