A RESOLUTION
Recognizing CASA Day in Ohio, April 30, 2024.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize Court Appointed Special Advocates Day 2
in Ohio, April 30, 2024; and 3
WHEREAS, The many people across Ohio who serve as court appointed 4
special advocates and guardians ad litem have proven to be truly 5
committed to representing abused and neglected children in court 6
proceedings and advocating for their best interests, all with the goal 7
of having every child living with a nurturing family and in a safe 8
environment. CASA Day was created to celebrate the impact of these 9
conscientious leaders, and this occasion is truly worthy of 10
recognition; and 11
WHEREAS, Time and again, research has shown the benefits to 12
children assigned to CASA/GAL volunteers, and it is undeniably true 13
that the support these advocates provide has made a difference in 14
numerous lives and that their important work has laid the groundwork 15
for many youth who otherwise would have been overlooked to succeed. 16
Indeed, the fine people who comprise Ohio CASA have been dedicated to 17
tirelessly helping local child welfare agencies be effective and 18
successful; and 19
WHEREAS, As we observe CASA Day in Ohio, we celebrate the impact 20
of court appointed special advocates and guardians ad litem and 21
encourage others to get involved and support the CASA program. Since 22
its inception, Ohio CASA has had a positive effect, and we are certain 23
that its dynamic efforts will continue to shape our state’s future; 24
therefore be it 25
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 26
S. R. No. 354 Page 2
As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commemorate Court 27
Appointed Special Advocates Day in Ohio and salute the tremendous work 28
of organizations such as Ohio CASA; and be it further 29
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit duly authenticated 30
copies of this Resolution to Ohio Court Appointed Special Advocates 31
and to the news media of Ohio. 32
