DETAILED ANALYSIS
The bill designates the following highway, and authorizes the Director of Transportation
to erect suitable markers along the highway indicating its name:
Designated Name “Army Lt. Col. Robert R. Melnick Memorial Highway”1
Highway The northbound lanes of State Route 11, between Interstate Route 76 and
United States Route 62, in Mahoning County
Other Information On October 19, 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Robert R. Melnick died in an
accident on the Ohio Turnpike outside of Toledo. When the accident
occurred, he was returning from reserve duty in the Chicago area, where he
served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General
Corps.
