A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio
on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Academy of 2
Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio as it celebrates its Two 3
Hundredth Anniversary; and 4
WHEREAS, This is, indeed, an important occasion, and it provides 5
an ideal time to acknowledge the exceptional work done by the Academy 6
of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio. Since its establishment in 7
1824 as the Nineteenth Medical District, the academy has supported 8
physicians in being strong advocates for all patients and promoted the 9
practice of the highest quality of medicine, and its impressive 10
contributions to its professional community readily explain why it is 11
so widely held in high esteem; and 12
WHEREAS, All those associated with the Academy of Medicine of 13
Cleveland and Northern Ohio are to be commended for their foresight, 14
dedication, and selfless donations of time, energy, and ability far 15
beyond what was required or expected. These fine people have engaged 16
in an array of worthwhile activities and projects that have earned the 17
respect and admiration of many and have set an example of concerned 18
and responsible citizenship worthy of emulation; and 19
WHEREAS, Founded on the highest ideals of professionalism, the 20
Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio has distinguished 21
itself by its commitment to excellence. One of the oldest medical 22
societies in the United States and the oldest professional association 23
in Ohio, AMCNO became revered for its efforts during the polio 24
epidemic for having the best vaccination completion rate for school- 25
aged children in the United States, and it has maintained a reputation 26

for integrity, reliability, and devotion to its field. Without a 27
doubt, its efforts are deserving of the highest praise; therefore be 28
it 29
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 30
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 31
congratulate the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio on 32
its Bicentennial and salute its staff and members as outstanding 33
Ohioans; and be it further 34
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 35
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Academy of 36
Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio. 37
