                       A RESOLUTION
                      Honoring Lacie Knick as the
  2024 Girls Wrestling State Champion in the 125-pound weight class.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to    2
Lacie Knick on placing first in the 125-pound weight class at the 2024   3
Ohio High School Athletic Association Girls Wrestling State              4
Tournament; and                                                          5
     WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and      6
dedication throughout the 2023-2024 season, Lacie Knick has certainly    7
distinguished herself as one of the most gifted athletes in the state.   8
A sophomore member of the Northmont High School girls wrestling team,    9
she demonstrated admirable drive and skill when she decisively earned    10
the title in the 125-pound weight class at this year’s OHSAA Girls       11
Wrestling State Tournament, becoming the first female state champion     12
from NHS and just the second wrestler from the school to win such a      13
crown. She is worthy of acknowledgement; and                             14
     WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Lacie Knick   15
has consistently exhibited the talent, integrity, and motivation that    16
are the hallmarks of a true champion. She has inspired her teammates,    17
thrilled her fans, and gained the respect of her opponents, and her      18
tremendous accomplishments have made all those who have supported her    19
athletic endeavors very proud; and                                       20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   21
in the total education of our young people, we are honored to pay        22
tribute to Lacie Knick on an exemplary 2023-2024 season. Indeed, the     23
remarkable enthusiasm and experience she has gained through her          24
participation in wrestling will greatly aid her in meeting the           25
challenges life holds and contribute to her bright and promising         26

future; therefore be it                                                    27
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           29
congratulate Lacie Knick as a 2024 OHSAA Champion and praise her as a      30
standout Ohio athlete and citizen; and be it further                       31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Lacie Knick.               33
