A RESOLUTION
Honoring Lyle Yost on securing the 2024 National
Collegiate Athletic Association Division I 1-meter
diving title.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Lyle Yost as the 2024 NCAA 2
Division I Champion in the 1-meter board; and 3
WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and 4
dedication as a fifth-year senior member of The Ohio State University 5
men’s swimming and diving team, Lyle Yost has certainly distinguished 6
himself as one of the most talented divers in the nation. At the 2024 7
NCAA Division I Championship meet, he won first place in the 1-meter 8
diving event for the second consecutive year; and 9
WHEREAS, Throughout the 2023-2024 season, Lyle Yost had prepared 10
conscientiously in pursuit of the national crown, devoting countless 11
hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning. 12
Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends, for he 13
has claimed his second national title in the 1-meter diving event; and 14
WHEREAS, Despite sometimes grueling pressure, Lyle Yost has 15
consistently maintained his composure and morale, exhibiting strength, 16
speed, and stamina in every challenging encounter. Time and again, he 17
has risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating his unflagging 18
determination, and he has set an example for others to emulate; 19
therefore be it 20
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 21
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Lyle Yost on 22
his remarkable achievement and offer best wishes for the years to 23
come; and be it further 24
