DETAILED ANALYSIS
The bill designates the following highway and authorizes the Director of Transportation
to erect suitable markers along the highway indicating its name:
Designated Name “TSgt. Grover Lee Swearingen Memorial Highway”1
Highway The northbound and southbound lanes of State Route 41, between the
municipal corporations of Peebles and West Union, in Adams County.
Other Information TSgt. Grover Lee Swearingen served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World
War II. His plane was shot down over Dusseldorf, Germany, and he was held
as a prisoner of war there for nine months. He returned home to West
Union, Ohio and served his community until his death on October 21, 2021.
