A RESOLUTION
Honoring Michael Boyle on securing a 2024 Division II
State Wrestling Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Michael Boyle as 2
the 2024 Division II State Wrestling Champion in the 165-pound weight 3
class; and 4
WHEREAS, Michael Boyle is deserving of this prestigious title, a 5
tribute to the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable spirit that 6
he has so amply displayed as a freshman member of the Bishop Watterson 7
High School wrestling team. A tenacious competitor, he can always be 8
counted on to shine, and consequently, he defeated a tough St. Paris 9
Graham competitor by the score of 5-1 to earn this year’s Division II 10
State Championship crown and finish the season with a remarkable 43-4 11
record. Indeed, the strength, agility, stamina, and skill that he has 12
exhibited have earned him many admirers; and 13
WHEREAS, Michael Boyle has conscientiously applied himself to the 14
quest for excellence as an athlete, training and practicing diligently 15
in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, he has risen to 16
the occasion, maintaining his morale, composure, and good 17
sportsmanship, and he has gained the respect of even his most 18
determined rivals. Clearly, his enthusiastic involvement in athletics 19
has enabled him to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and 20
leadership, and in the process, his exceptional prowess has set a fine 21
example that is sure to inspire future generations of wrestlers; and 22
WHEREAS, Wrestling is a demanding sport that requires exceptional 23
strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Michael Boyle is to be 24
commended for his exemplary performance at this year’s Division II 25
State Championship meet. Throughout extensive practice and 26

preparation, he has developed into a dynamic competitor, and it is our 27
hope that he will take the lessons learned from this triumph and apply 28
them well as he pursues his goals in the years ahead; therefore be it 29
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 30
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Michael 31
Boyle on his tremendous athletic achievement and commend him on an 32
outstanding season; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 34
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Michael Boyle. 35
