                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Riley Nixon
 as a 2024 Division II-III State Champion in indoor track and field.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Riley Nixon on      2
securing first place in the 1,600-meter run at the 2024 Division         3
II-III State Indoor Track and Field Meet; and                            4
     WHEREAS, A student at Ottawa Hills High School, Riley Nixon has     5
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good   6
sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional athlete, and   7
his tremendous record of success this season is a testament to his       8
incredible talent. At this year’s Division II-III State Indoor Track     9
and Field Meet, he won first place in the 1,600-meter run with a time    10
of 4:15.26, and he is certainly deserving of high praise; and            11
     WHEREAS, Riley Nixon’s superb accomplishments, both in and out of   12
athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an           13
outstanding reflection not only on him but also on his family, his       14
teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. Indeed, the       15
same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation     16
in sports will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the          17
future; and                                                              18
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    19
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    20
the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a      21
valuable tool. Through his participation in sports, Riley Nixon has      22
learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest          23
competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him             24
throughout his lifetime; therefore be it                                 25

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
commend Riley Nixon on his personal success and salute him as one of       28
Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further                            29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Riley Nixon.               31
