                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Caleb Kelly
    as a 2024 Division I State Champion in indoor track and field.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Caleb Kelly on      2
securing first place in the 200-meter dash at the 2024 Division I        3
State Indoor Track and Field Meet; and                                   4
     WHEREAS, A student at St. John’s Jesuit High School, Caleb Kelly    5
has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of    6
good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional           7
athlete, and his tremendous record of success this season is a           8
testament to his incredible talent. At this year’s Division I State      9
Indoor Track and Field Meet, he won first place in the 200-meter dash    10
with a time of 21.97, and he is certainly deserving of high praise;      11
and                                                                      12
     WHEREAS, Caleb Kelly’s superb accomplishments, both in and out of   13
athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an           14
outstanding reflection not only on him but also on his family, his       15
teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. Indeed, the       16
same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation     17
in sports will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the          18
future; and                                                              19
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    20
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    21
the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a      22
valuable tool. Through his participation in sports, Caleb Kelly has      23
learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest          24
competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him             25
throughout his lifetime; therefore be it                                 26

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           28
commend Caleb Kelly on his personal success and salute him as one of       29
Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further                            30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Caleb Kelly.               32
