                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Richmond Heights High School boys basketball
              team as the 2024 Division IV State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Richmond Heights High School     2
boys basketball team on winning the 2024 Division IV State               3
Championship; and                                                        4
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the   5
Richmond Heights High School boys basketball team have combined talent   6
and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish    7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable              8
dedication, the Spartans have worked diligently toward attaining         9
ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they defeated a     10
tough Hiland team by the score of 62-35 to win this year’s Division IV   11
State Championship, their third consecutive such title, and finished     12
the season with an impressive 19-9 record; and                           13
     WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the Richmond Heights    14
High School boys basketball team are a justifiable source of pride and   15
an excellent reflection on the players, their families, their school     16
community, and their head coach, Quentin Rogers. Indeed, in leading      17
the team to victory, Coach Rogers has helped these athletes to develop   18
great talent by instilling the valuable lessons of determination,        19
perseverance, and camaraderie; and                                       20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   21
in the total education of our young people, we are pleased to pay        22
tribute to the exemplary athletes and outstanding coaches of the         23
Richmond Heights High School boys basketball team for a job well done.   24
The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their   25
participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the             26

challenges of the future; therefore be it                                     27
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General        28
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Richmond           29
Heights High School boys basketball team on its tremendous 2023-2024          30
season and salute the members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest            31
citizens; and be it further                                                   32
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                   33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Richmond Heights High            34
School boys basketball team.                                                  35
