                        A RESOLUTION
                          Honoring Geoff Brown
          on being presented with an Edyth May Sliffe Award.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Geoff Brown as the        2
first Ohioan to receive an Edyth May Sliffe Award by the Mathematical     3
Association of America; and                                               4
     WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure at Chagrin Falls Middle School,       5
where he currently teaches honors geometry and algebra, Geoff Brown       6
has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to professional excellence,     7
and he has fulfilled his varying duties with integrity, sensitivity,      8
and the utmost competence. Conscientious in his approach to teaching,     9
he has been tireless in his efforts to ensure that his students           10
receive the best possible education, and he has brought great insight     11
and exceptional ability to his important work; and                        12
     WHEREAS, Motivated by a deep concern for young people, Geoff Brown   13
has excelled at making learning enjoyable for the students in his         14
classroom, and he has encouraged them to get involved in national math    15
competitions. A patient and generous individual, he has encouraged        16
many youth to develop their scholastic abilities and has instilled        17
within them an appreciation of the importance of education which will     18
benefit them throughout their lives; and                                  19
     WHEREAS, Geoff Brown has earned the well-deserved reputation as an 20
enthusiastic advocate of educational excellence. Indeed, he has         21
constructively shaped the lives of numerous young people by helping     22
them to explore their interests and strengths so that they will be      23
prepared to meet the challenges of the future with confidence and       24
success; therefore be it                                                25

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
applaud Geoff Brown on receiving this national accolade and wish him       28
the best in his future endeavors; and be it further                        29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Geoff Brown.               31
