                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Lutheran East High School boys basketball
              team on winning the 2024 Division III State
              Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Lutheran East High School boys      2
basketball team as the 2024 Division III State Champion; and             3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Lutheran East High School boys          4
basketball team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves   5
to be truly exceptional competitors. This season, the Falcons overcame   6
a tough Harvest Prep squad by the score of 45-36 to secure the           7
Division III State Championship, their second consecutive state crown    8
and their fifth such title in program history. The unwavering            9
commitment of the players and coaches has earned them the esteem of      10
many, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and               11
     WHEREAS, Coach Sam Liggins has demonstrated remarkable energy,      12
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Lutheran East High School      13
boys basketball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the       14
squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless         15
efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on the court, and     16
he has received respect and admiration from all who know him; and        17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    19
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has     20
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the     21
Lutheran East High School boys basketball team have gained discipline    22
and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;      23

As Introduced
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     25
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the          26
Lutheran East High School boys basketball team as the 2024 Division        27
III State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success      28
of this fine squad; and be it further                                      29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Lutheran East High School     31
boys basketball team.                                                      32
