                       A RESOLUTION
      Honoring The University of Toledo women’s basketball team
      on securing the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud The University of        2
Toledo women’s basketball team as the 2024 Mid-American Conference       3
Champion; and                                                            4
     WHEREAS, The University of Toledo women’s basketball team is made   5
up of remarkable athletes who have worked diligently to showcase the     6
collective talents of their exceptional squad. At this year’s MAC        7
Championship, the Rockets beat the Kent State team with a score of 83-   8
61, and the members amply demonstrated impressive determination,         9
maturity, and finesse in pursuit of capturing a program-record third     10
straight MAC crown; and                                                  11
     WHEREAS, This triumph reflects the staunch resolve of the members   12
of The University of Toledo women’s basketball team, and it signifies    13
the acquisition of valuable experience that is sure to benefit them in   14
later life. The players have met the demands of an extensive training    15
regimen thanks to the tireless efforts of an exceptional staff,          16
including Coach Tricia Cullop, as well as the support of the Rockets     17
community, and this is a just cause for celebration; and                 18
     WHEREAS, All those who comprise The University of Toledo women’s    19
basketball team have set an excellent example of what a dedicated        20
group of athletes can achieve when guided by a committed coaching        21
staff and surrounded by loyal fans. These tenacious competitors have     22
certainly proven themselves to be dynamic athletic leaders, and we are   23
confident that as they meet future challenges, they will take with       24
them the valuable lessons they have gained through their participation   25
in basketball; therefore be it                                           26

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           28
congratulate The University of Toledo women’s basketball team on its       29
2024 Mid-American Conference Championship title and count its players      30
and coaches among the ranks of outstanding Ohioans; and be it further      31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The University of          33
Toledo women’s basketball team.                                            34
