A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Grandview Heights Public Library
on its One Hundredth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Grandview Heights 2
Public Library on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth 3
Anniversary; and 4
WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a 5
fitting tribute to the Grandview Heights Public Library, for 6
throughout its history, this fine institution has achieved a 7
praiseworthy record of service to the area. In the decades since its 8
establishment, GHPL has not only experienced impressive prosperity but 9
has also become one of the area’s most vibrant and venerable public 10
institutions, and it has distinguished itself as a true pillar of the 11
community; and 12
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Grandview Heights Public Library 13
has fostered education, culture, and individual growth and achievement 14
by providing a variety of innovative and beneficial programs and 15
services. As a focal point for many community activities and as a 16
valuable instrument for community improvement, the library has earned 17
the respect and appreciation of countless patrons and has set an 18
example of service worthy of emulation; and 19
WHEREAS, Public libraries play an important role in today’s 20
society by serving as receptacles of shared knowledge, information, 21
and ideas. They provide a means of enjoyment, self-advancement, and 22
intellectual development for all individuals, and, as repositories for 23
the best of our nation’s intellectual endeavors, they are vital to the 24
preservation of our country’s heritage, principles, and ideals. We are 25
proud to note that it is through the efforts of institutions such as 26

the Grandview Heights Public Library that our state has maintained its 27
reputation as a friendly, productive, and pleasant place in which to 28
live and work; therefore be it 29
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 30
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 31
congratulate the Grandview Heights Public Library on its Centennial 32
and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Grandview Heights 35
Public Library. 36
