A RESOLUTION
Honoring Milly Leonard
on winning two 2024 Division I State swimming championships.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize Milly Leonard, a 2
junior at Dublin Jerome High School, on placing first at the 2024 3
Division I State championships in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500- 4
yard freestyle; and 5
WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and 6
dedication during the 2023-24 season, Milly Leonard has certainly 7
distinguished herself as one of the most talented swimmers in the 8
State of Ohio. At this year’s Division I State Swimming and Diving 9
Meet, she placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 10
1:49.87 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.77, and she is 11
truly worthy of applause; and 12
WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Milly 13
Leonard has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and 14
motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion. She has inspired 15
her teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents, 16
and made her coaches and family very proud; and 17
WHEREAS, With athletic competition contributing to the total 18
education of young people, we are happy to acknowledge Milly Leonard 19
on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she 20
has gained through her participation in swimming will greatly aid her 21
in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 22
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 23
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay 24
tribute to Milly Leonard on her remarkable season and wish her the 25

best in the years to come; and be it further 26
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 27
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Milly Leonard. 28
