                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring Rejan Al-Hashash on winning a 2024 State
              Championship in girls wrestling.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to commend Rejan Al-Hashash as the 2024 State        2
Champion in girls wrestling in the 140-pound weight class; and           3
     WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Rejan Al-Hashash is     4
deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a junior   5
member of the Avon Lake High School girls wrestling team. An             6
exceptional athlete, she defeated a tough opponent from Gahanna          7
Lincoln High School by a 14-10 decision to win this year’s state         8
championship in the 140-pound weight class, and her noteworthy record    9
of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others; and             10
     WHEREAS, Through her participation in wrestling, Rejan Al-Hashash   11
has learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work,    12
and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to      13
her throughout her life. Through her outstanding efforts, she has        14
inspired countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and     15
she has set an example worthy of emulation; and                          16
     WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of     17
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards   18
of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable         19
educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of         20
countless youth, we are happy to congratulate such a fine athlete as     21
Rejan Al-Hashash; therefore be it                                        22
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General   23
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Rejan Al-         24
Hashash on her 2024 State Championship and extend best wishes for        25

continued success; and be it further                                   26
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly            27
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Rejan Al-Hashash.             28
