                       A RESOLUTION
                     Honoring Andrew Walton as the
  2023-2024 Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year for boys cross country.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Andrew Walton on    2
being named the 2023-2024 Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year for boys      3
cross country; and                                                       4
     WHEREAS, A junior at Fairfield Union High School, Andrew Walton     5
has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of    6
good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional           7
athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently to attain   8
ultimate proficiency in cross country, and as a result, he was named     9
the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year after winning the Division II       10
State Championship with a time of 15:00.2 and leading the Falcons to a   11
third-place finish; and                                                  12
     WHEREAS, Andrew Walton’s accomplishments and leadership, both in    13
and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and   14
an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his      15
teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering    16
commitment to excellence has earned him this well-deserved honor, and    17
he is certainly worthy of high praise; and                               18
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   19
in the total education of young Ohioans, we are overjoyed to pay         20
tribute to Andrew Walton on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same        21
maturity and experience which he has gained through his participation    22
in sports will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the          23
future; therefore be it                                                  24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25

As Offered
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           26
commend Andrew Walton as the 2023-2024 Ohio Gatorade Player of the         27
Year and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further       28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Andrew Walton.             30
