                       A RESOLUTION
                    Honoring the Village of Convoy
               on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Village of      2
Convoy on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundred Fiftieth            3
Anniversary; and                                                         4
     WHEREAS, America is only as strong as her individual communities,   5
which are unique and which make significant contributions to the         6
culture of our state and nation. Since its founding in 1874 by Robert    7
Nesbit, the Village of Convoy has experienced dramatic growth and        8
change, and yet, commendably, it has retained the many engaging          9
qualities that have endeared it to generations of inhabitants.           10
Clearly, it has built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a     11
future filled with hope and promise; and                                 12
     WHEREAS, Over the past century and a half, the Village of Convoy    13
has enjoyed the benefits of a generous and civic-minded population,      14
and those who currently make the community their home take great pride   15
in its rich heritage and its many local landmarks. Indeed, they have     16
exhibited cooperation, integrity, and a willingness to work hard, and    17
their efforts have certainly made the area a pleasant and friendly       18
place in which to live; and                                              19
     WHEREAS, The One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary of the Village of     20
Convoy offers its citizens the opportunity to share their memories and   21
experiences and to reflect on life in their close-knit community. A      22
vigorous commitment to public service and an earnest devotion to lofty   23
ideals have long been second nature to many of the village residents,    24
and vigilance, industriousness, and generosity have come to typify       25
their collective character; therefore be it                              26

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           28
commend the Village of Convoy on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary      29
and extend best wishes for continued peace and prosperity; and be it       30
further                                                                    31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Village of Convoy.     33
