                       A RESOLUTION
                    Honoring German Club Edelweiss
                          on its Centennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate German Club          2
Edelweiss on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary;    3
and                                                                       4
     WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting      5
tribute to German Club Edelweiss, for since its inception, it has         6
achieved a remarkable record of service to the Englewood area. Started    7
as a soccer club for German people in Dayton to be able to play on        8
their own field, the organization became a social center for members      9
to put on meetings, dinners, dances, and events, allowing them to         10
maintain their German heritage while becoming good American citizens,     11
and its accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an          12
outstanding reflection not only on the group itself but also on its       13
dedicated members and on the community; and                               14
     WHEREAS, Over the past century, German Club Edelweiss has enhanced   15
the quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its          16
generous contributions, it has earned the respect and gratitude of        17
many. We are certain that as this noteworthy organization maintains       18
its unfaltering commitment to service, it will continue in the            19
tradition of excellence that has long been its hallmark; and              20
     WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing       21
efforts of organizations such as German Club Edelweiss that Ohio has      22
gained a reputation as a state that is responsive to the needs of its     23
citizens and has remained a pleasant place in which to live and work.     24
This fine group is truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it        25

As Adopted by the House
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
commend German Club Edelweiss on its One Hundredth Anniversary and         28
extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further                  29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to German Club Edelweiss.     31
