A RESOLUTION
Honoring Abe DeLano on securing a 2024 Division III State
Wrestling Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Abe DeLano as the 2
2024 Division III State Wrestling Champion in the 215-pound weight 3
class; and 4
WHEREAS, Abe DeLano is deserving of this prestigious title, a 5
tribute to the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable spirit that 6
he has so amply displayed as a senior member of the Ayersvillle High 7
School wrestling team. A tenacious competitor, he can always be 8
counted on to shine, and understandably, the strength, agility, 9
stamina, and skill that he has exhibited have earned him many 10
admirers; and 11
WHEREAS, Abe DeLano has conscientiously applied himself to the 12
quest for excellence as an athlete, training and practicing diligently 13
in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, he has risen to 14
the occasion, maintaining his morale, composure, and good 15
sportsmanship, and he has gained the respect of even his most 16
determined rivals. Clearly, his enthusiastic involvement in athletics 17
has enabled him to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and 18
leadership, and in the process, his exceptional prowess has set a fine 19
example that is sure to inspire future generations of wrestlers; and 20
WHEREAS, Wrestling is a demanding sport that requires exceptional 21
strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Abe DeLano is to be 22
commended for his exemplary performance at this year’s Division III 23
State Championship meet. Throughout extensive practice and 24
preparation, he has developed into a dynamic competitor, and it is our 25
hope that he will take the lessons learned from these triumphs and 26

apply them well as he pursues his goals in the years ahead; therefore 27
be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 29
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Abe 30
DeLano on his tremendous athletic achievement and commend him on an 31
outstanding season; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Abe DeLano. 34
