                       A RESOLUTION
            Authorizing Ohio YMCA Youth and Government to use the Ohio    1
              Senate Chamber and committee rooms on February 29-March     2
              1, 2024, and March 21-22, 2024.                             3
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     4
of Ohio have learned that Ohio YMCA Youth and Government has requested    5
permission to use the Ohio Senate Chamber and committee rooms for its     6
High School State Assemblies Program, February 29-March 1, 2024, and      7
March 21-22, 2024; and                                                    8
     WHEREAS, Since its inception, Ohio YMCA Youth and Government has     9
provided students with the opportunity to better appreciate and           10
understand government and its components, and the knowledge gained        11
through this event will certainly be of value to participants in the      12
years to come; and                                                        13
     WHEREAS, By utilizing the facilities that accommodate those          14
involved in the state legislative process, Ohio YMCA Youth and            15
Government will offer students an accurate depiction of state             16
government and the manner in which legislation is created and             17
processed; and                                                            18
     WHEREAS, Through participation in the High School State Assemblies   19
Program, students will be better prepared to become productive members    20
of our complex and ever-changing society. The maturity and experience     21
participants will gain as a result of their involvement with Ohio YMCA    22
Youth and Government will not only enrich their total educational         23
experience but also enable them to make better-informed decisions as      24

they assume the responsibilities of adult citizenship; therefore be it     25
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, permit Ohio YMCA Youth      27
and Government to use the Ohio Senate Chamber, contingent upon the         28
availability of those facilities, and salute the participants as some      29
of Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further                         30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ohio YMCA Youth and               32
Government.                                                                33
