SUMMARY
 Requires the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to provide
supplemental benefits to households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program (SNAP) benefits if the household (1) includes a member who is 60 years of age
or older and (2) receives a monthly SNAP benefit that is less than $50.
 Specifies that the amount of the supplemental allotment must result in increasing an
eligible household’s monthly allotment to $50.
 Appropriates $12,495,000 in FY 2024 and $21,415,000 in FY 2025 to provide supplemental
allotments to eligible households.
DETAILED ANALYSIS
SNAP supplemental payments
The bill requires Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to provide supplemental
benefit allotments to certain households participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program. To be eligible to receive a supplemental benefit allotment, a household must include
both (1) an individual who is 60 years of age or older and (2) receive a monthly benefit allotment
that is less than $50.1
The amount of supplemental benefit allotment that an eligible household will receive is
the amount necessary to provide the household with a total monthly benefit amount of $50.2 To
assist with providing eligible households with supplemental benefit allotments, the bill
