                        A RESOLUTION
            Authorizing the Ohio YMCA Youth and Government to use the        1
               Ohio House Chambers to conduct its 2024 model                 2
               legislature.                                                  3
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF
OHIO:
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th       4
General Assembly of Ohio have learned that the Ohio YMCA Youth and           5
Government has requested permission to use the Ohio House Chambers for its   6
model legislature event, February 29-March 1, 2024 and March 21-March 22,    7
2024; and                                                                    8
     WHEREAS, A beneficial educational organization, the Ohio YMCA           9
Youth and Government provides students with the opportunity to better        10
appreciate and understand government and its components, and the             11
knowledge gained through this event will certainly be of value to all        12
participants throughout their lifetimes; and                                 13
     WHEREAS, By utilizing the facilities that accommodate those             14
involved in the state legislative process, the Ohio YMCA Youth and           15
Government will offer students an accurate depiction of state                16
government and the manner in which legislation is created and                17
processed; and                                                               18
     WHEREAS, Through participation in the Ohio YMCA Youth and               19
Government, students will be better prepared to become productive            20
members of our complex and ever-changing society. The maturity and           21
experience the participants will gain through their involvement in           22
this program will not only enrich their total educational experience         23

but also enable them to make better-informed decisions as they assume      24
the responsibilities of adult citizenship; therefore be it                 25
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
permit the Ohio YMCA Youth and Government to use the Ohio House            28
Chambers for its 2024 model legislature event, February 29-March 1,        29
2024 and March 21-March 22, 2024, contingent upon the availability of      30
those facilities, and salute its participants as conscientious young       31
citizens; and be it further                                                32
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ohio YMCA Youth        34
and Government.                                                            35
