                       A RESOLUTION
    Honoring The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team
        on winning the 2023 U.S. Collegiate National Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate The Ohio State      2
University synchronized swimming team as the 2023 U.S. Collegiate        3
National Champion; and                                                   4
     WHEREAS, The members of The Ohio State University synchronized      5
swimming team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves     6
to be truly exceptional. Fierce competitors throughout the season, the   7
Buckeyes compiled 95 points to win the 2023 U.S. Collegiate National     8
Championship, their second consecutive such crown and thirty-fourth      9
national title in program history. The unwavering commitment of the      10
swimmers and coaches has earned them the esteem of many, and they are    11
certainly deserving of high praise; and                                  12
     WHEREAS, Coach Holly Vargo-Brown has demonstrated remarkable        13
energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding The Ohio State             14
University synchronized swimming team to victory, and her skill is       15
reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to     16
her tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves in the   17
pool, and she has received respect and admiration from all who know      18
her; and                                                                 19
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    20
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    21
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has     22
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of The     23
Ohio State University synchronized swimming team have gained             24
discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of        25
their lives; therefore be it                                             26

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay       28
tribute to The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team as the     29
2023 U.S. Collegiate National Champion and honor all those who             30
contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further           31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State             33
University synchronized swimming team.                                     34
