                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Akron-Summit County Public Library
                       on its Sesquicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th     1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Akron-Summit         2
County Public Library as it commemorates its One Hundred Fiftieth          3
Anniversary; and                                                           4
     WHEREAS, This is, indeed, an important occasion, and                  5
congratulations are certainly in order. Established in 1874, the           6
Akron-Summit County Public Library has experienced tremendous growth       7
and prosperity over the past fifteen decades, and it has expanded its      8
collection to include millions of books, eBooks, digital products, and     9
tools across its branches in Summit County; and                            10
     WHEREAS, The Akron-Summit County Public Library has become   one of   11
the community’s most vibrant and venerable public institutions.   Thanks   12
to the generous efforts of a host of local citizens, it remains   an       13
outstanding resource for its patrons as well as an exciting hub   of       14
language and learning that connects people through a variety of            15
programming; and                                                           16
     WHEREAS, Those who have nurtured, directed, and sustained the         17
Akron-Summit County Public Library merit praise for their remarkable       18
initiative, diligence, and resolve. With a wealth of vision and            19
vitality, they have shown how very much can be accomplished by a group     20
of conscientious, industrious people, and they can be proud that their     21
unflagging commitment to literacy, education, and volunteer service        22
has made it possible for the library to flourish; therefore be it          23
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           25

applaud the Akron-Summit County Public Library on its One Hundred          26
Fiftieth Anniversary and look with optimism to a bright future; and be     27
it further                                                                 28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Akron-Summit           30
County Public Library.                                                     31
