                       A RESOLUTION
                        Honoring Mehmet Yilanli
                  as a 2023 National Chess Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Mehmet Yilanli as the    2
2023 National Chess Champion in the kindergarten grade level; and        3
     WHEREAS, Mehmet Yilanli is worthy of acknowledgement, for he has    4
distinguished himself as a truly amazing chess player. A celebrated      5
participant of the U.S. Chess Federation’s National K-12 Grade           6
Championships, he has demonstrated how successful a person can be when   7
applying natural talent with concentration and perseverance, and we      8
applaud him on his first-place finish at this year’s championship in     9
Orlando, Florida; and                                                    10
     WHEREAS, Few activities embody the spirit of individual             11
accomplishment more than chess, and in his performances, Mehmet          12
Yilanli has consistently displayed exceptional strategy, ability, and    13
commitment. Through his remarkable efforts, he has encouraged            14
countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and he has set   15
an example worthy of the highest admiration; and                         16
     WHEREAS, Dedication to mastering games that engage mental           17
proficiency plays an important part in the development of youth, and     18
we are pleased to applaud such a fine individual as Mehmet Yilanli.      19
Indeed, he has been an inspiration to many, and through his impressive   20
feats, he has captivated his fans, gained the respect of his             21
opponents, and made his family and community very proud; therefore be    22

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of   24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,         25

praise Mehmet Yilanli as the 2023 National Chess Champion in the            26
kindergarten grade level and look with optimism to his ongoing              27
success; and be it further                                                  28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit      29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Mehmet Yilanli.             30
