135th General Assembly
Regular Session S. R. No. 275
2023-2024
Senator McColley
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Village of Pioneer on its One Hundred
Seventy-fifth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Village of Pioneer on the 2
jubilant celebration of its One Hundred Seventy-fifth Anniversary; and 3
WHEREAS, This is, indeed, an auspicious milestone, and 4
congratulations are certainly in order. Since its establishment by 5
P.W. Norris in 1849, Pioneer has experienced dramatic growth and 6
change, and yet, commendably, even as its residents have exuberantly 7
embraced the promise of a bright future, they have never relinquished 8
their appreciation for the worthiest virtues of the past. Without 9
sacrificing their sense of tradition in the name of progress, the 10
people of Pioneer have managed to nurture a fresh perspective and a 11
positive outlook that endear this distinctive place to all who know it 12
well; and 13
WHEREAS, One hundred seventy-five years after it was founded, the 14
Village of Pioneer still radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all 15
its own. Clearly, it is a place of many engaging qualities, and its 16
schools, businesses, and civic organizations both embody and thrive 17
upon the values of which our flag is an emblem; and 18
WHEREAS, Every state depends upon such vibrant, durable 19
communities as the Village of Pioneer for its own survival and 20
stability. Although it has known adversity and tribulation, it has 21
also been favored with its share of blessings. In the years to come, 22
Pioneer is sure to remain on its admirable course and to continue to 23
transform challenges into opportunities; therefore be it 24
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 25
