SUMMARY
Designates January 22, as the “Day of Tears,” to “remember and mourn the innocent,
unborn children who have lost their lives due to abortion” on the anniversary of Roe v.
Wade.
Encourages Ohio residents to lower their flags to half-staff on the “Day of Tears.”

The bill designates January 22, as the “Day of Tears,” to “observe the anniversary of the
erroneous ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States on January 22, 1973, that abortion
was a right secured by the Constitution of the United States.” The “Day of Tears” is designated
to “remember and mourn the innocent, unborn children who have lost their lives due to
abortion.”
Under the bill, Ohio residents are encouraged to lower their flags to half-staff on the
“Day of Tears.”1
