A RESOLUTION
To commend the state of Texas for the state's 1
policies and actions to secure the national 2
border. 3
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
WHEREAS, Illegal immigration across the southern border of 4
the United States has reached crisis proportions; and 5
WHEREAS, In an effort to deter the flow of undocumented 6
immigrants across the national border, Texas officials have 7
installed concertina wire at various places at or near about a 8
28-mile stretch of the border near Eagle Pass, Texas; and 9
WHEREAS, The United states Supreme Court on January 22, 10
2024, agreed to let U.S. Border Patrol agents cut or remove the 11
wire fencing that Texas officials placed along part of the 12
state's border with Mexico to deter illegal border crossings; 13
and 14
WHEREAS, As a sovereign state, Texas has the right to 15
protect its border with Mexico; now therefore be it 16
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th 17
General Assembly of the State of Ohio, in adopting this 18

As Introduced
Resolution, commend the state of Texas for the state's policies 19
and actions to secure the national border; and be it further 20
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 21
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Governor of the 22
state of Texas, to the President of the United States, to the 23
Ohio Congressional delegation, and to the news media of Ohio. 24
