A RESOLUTION
Honoring Dorian Pringle
as the SBLive Sports 2023 National Defensive Player of the Year.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Dorian Pringle on 2
being voted the 2023 National Defensive Player of the Year by the 3
readers of SBLive Sports; and 4
WHEREAS, A linebacker for the Massillon High School football team, 5
Dorian Pringle has combined talent and competitive spirit with the 6
highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly 7
exceptional athlete, and in receiving this richly deserved 8
distinction, he joins the ranks of some of the most illustrious and 9
talented sports figures in the country. A tenacious competitor, he can 10
always be counted on to shine, and during the 2023 season, he 11
accumulated an impressive 74 tackles, 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 12
blocked kicks while helping his team secure the Division II State 13
Championship title. Understandably, the strength, agility, stamina, 14
and skill that he has exhibited have earned him many admirers; and 15
WHEREAS, Dorian Pringle’s accomplishments are truly noteworthy, 16
for he has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well 17
as his mental and physical fortitude as an athlete. Indeed, he has 18
exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success 19
both in and out of the sports world, including courage, integrity, and 20
an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and he is 21
deserving of praise; and 22
WHEREAS, Dorian Pringle’s outstanding record of personal and 23
professional achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and 24
he has inspired countless individuals to excel in numerous areas of 25
endeavor. The respect and admiration that he has earned are evident in 26

his selection for the 2023 National Defensive Player of the Year 27
Award, and his accomplishments and leadership are a justifiable source 28
of pride for him, as well as for his family and his community; 29
therefore be it 30
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 31
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 32
commend Dorian Pringle on being named the SBLive Sports 2023 National 33
Defensive Player of the Year and salute him as one of Ohio’s finest 34
citizens; and be it further 35
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 36
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dorian Pringle. 37
