A RESOLUTION
Honoring the National Conference of State Legislatures on
its Fiftieth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the National Conference of State 2
Legislatures on the auspicious occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversary in 3
2025; and 4
WHEREAS, Celebration of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a 5
fitting tribute to the National Conference of State Legislatures, for 6
since its founding in 1975, it has become the premier bipartisan 7
organization solely dedicated to serving territorial and state 8
legislators as well as legislative staff. Over the past five decades, 9
NCSL has capably promoted its primary objectives, including the 10
advancement of effectiveness, independence, and integrity among state 11
legislatures, the fostering of interstate communication and 12
cooperation, and the assurance of a strong, cohesive voice of states 13
in the federal system. Clearly, it has achieved a praiseworthy record 14
of service to our democracy; and 15
WHEREAS, The various state legislatures that make up our nation 16
have shown the continual ability to tackle emerging challenges as well 17
as provide a unique forum where individuals of different backgrounds 18
and representing divergent communities can come together and find 19
common ground, and NCSL is to be applauded for its ongoing efforts in 20
support of these assemblies. Among its endeavors, the conference has 21
worked to increase the exchange of ideas, support the sharing of 22
research and information, and encourage a rigorous review of complex 23
issues, and it has certainly strengthened the fundamental bonds that 24
unite our nation; and 25
WHEREAS, All those associated with the National Conference of 26

State Legislatures are to be commended for their foresight, 27
dedication, and selfless donations of time, energy, and ability far 28
beyond what is required or expected. These fine people have earned the 29
respect and admiration of many and have set an example of concerned 30
and responsible citizenship worthy of emulation; therefore be it 31
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 32
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the 33
National Conference of State Legislatures on its Fiftieth Anniversary 34
and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further 35
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 36
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the National Conference of 37
State Legislatures. 38
