A RESOLUTION
Honoring The Ohio State University dance team on winning
the 2024 UDA DIA Jazz National Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to commend The Ohio State University dance team as 2
the 2024 Universal Dance Association Division IA National Champion in 3
the jazz category; and 4
WHEREAS, The talented members of The Ohio State University dance 5
team are, indeed, to be acknowledged for their remarkable fitness and 6
competitive drive, qualities that have figured prominently in the 7
squad’s impressive performance at this year's Universal Dance 8
Association Division IA Nationals. To their credit, these fine 9
athletes could always be counted on to execute even the most demanding 10
routines with agility, precision, exuberance, and grace, and as a 11
result, they won first place in the jazz category, their fifth such 12
title since 2018, and second place in the pom category; and 13
WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of their coaches, the members 14
of The Ohio State University dance team have trained tirelessly in 15
order to ensure peak physical and mental conditioning, and their 16
exceptional prowess has earned them many admirers. Participation in 17
this exciting activity has enabled them to learn much about creative 18
expression, self-respect, leadership, and dedication, and clearly, the 19
experience they have acquired is certain to benefit them in the years 20
to come; and 21
WHEREAS, Their enthusiastic spirit and love of dance have led the 22
members of The Ohio State University dance team to take part in 23
national competition, and they have served as an inspiration to their 24
peers. Their accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an 25
excellent reflection not only on them but also on their families, 26

their coaches, their school, and the State of Ohio, and they are truly 27
worthy of recognition; therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 29
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud The Ohio State 30
University dance team on its national championship and offer best 31
wishes for continued success; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University 34
dance team. 35
