                       A RESOLUTION
     Honoring the Massillon Washington High School football team
         on winning the 2023 Division II State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Massillon      2
Washington High School football team on securing the 2023 Division II     3
State Championship; and                                                   4
     WHEREAS, The talented Massillon Washington High School football      5
team is, indeed, to be heartily commended for decisively earning this     6
year’s state crown. The squad’s outstanding performance, including its    7
upset 15-13 defeat of the St. Edward Eagles, the only loss suffered by    8
the 2023 Division I Champion this season, its thrilling 7-2 victory       9
over the team from Archbishop Hoban High School at the Division II        10
State Championship, and its perfect 16-0 record, reflects the             11
outstanding collective effort by a gifted group of athletes, and          12
without exception, the team has devoted countless hours to training       13
and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning. Clearly, this          14
demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends; and                        15
     WHEREAS, The members of the Massillon Washington High School         16
football team have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that        17
befit true champions. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have      18
consistently maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting            19
strength, speed, stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter.     20
Time and again, they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating      21
their unflagging determination, and their impressive maturity and         22
finesse have earned them widespread respect, even among their most        23
formidable rivals; and                                                    24
     WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a     25
host of adversaries, the members of the Massillon Washington High         26

School football team have learned much about dedication, self-             27
discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Their first-place finish is      28
a measure of their stalwart commitment to the sport, and their             29
indomitable spirit has made their families, friends, and coach, Nate       30
Moore, incredibly proud; therefore be it                                   31
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     32
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           33
applaud the Massillon Washington High School football team on its          34
brilliant 2023 season and wish its members continued success in all of     35
their future endeavors; and be it further                                  36
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     37
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Massillon              38
Washington High School football team.                                      39
