A RESOLUTION
Relative to the election of Beryl Piccolantonio to fill 1
the vacancy in the membership of the House of 2
Representatives created by the resignation of Mary 3
Lightbody of the 4th House District. 4
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF
OHIO:
WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution 5
provides for the filling of a vacancy in the membership of the House 6
of Representatives by election by the members of the House of 7
Representatives who are affiliated with the same political party as 8
the person last elected to the seat which has become vacant; and 9
WHEREAS, Mary Lightbody of the 4th House District, has resigned as 10
a member of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly 11
effective January 9, 2024, thus creating a vacancy in the House of 12
Representatives; therefore be it 13
RESOLVED, By the members of the House of Representatives who are 14
affiliated with the Democrat party that Beryl Piccolantonio, Democrat, 15
having the qualifications set forth in the Ohio Constitution and the 16
laws of Ohio to be a member of the House of Representatives from the 17
4th House District, is hereby elected, effective January 10, 2024, 18
pursuant to Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution, as a 19
member of the House of Representatives from the 4th House District, to 20
fill the vacancy created by the unexpired portion of the term of said 21
Mary Lightbody ending on December 31, 2024; and be it further 22

As Offered
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the pages 23
of the Journal of the House of Representatives together with the yeas 24
and nays of the members of the House of Representatives affiliated 25
with the Democrat party voting on the resolution, and that the Clerk 26
of the House of Representatives shall certify the resolution and vote 27
on its adoption to the Secretary of State. 28
