                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring the St. Edward High School football team
                as the 2023 Division I State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the St. Edward    2
High School football on securing the 2023 Division I State               3
Championship; and                                                        4
     WHEREAS, The talented St. Edward High School football team is,      5
indeed, to be heartily commended for decisively earning the Division I   6
State Championship for a third straight year. The squad’s performance    7
reflects the outstanding collective effort by a gifted group of          8
athletes, and clearly, the team’s devotion to excellence has paid        9
handsome dividends; and                                                  10
     WHEREAS, The members of the St. Edward High School football team    11
have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that befit true          12
champions. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have consistently   13
maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed,       14
stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. Time and again,     15
they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging    16
determination, and their impressive maturity and finesse have earned     17
them widespread respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and    18
     WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a    19
host of adversaries, the members of the St. Edward High School           20
football team have learned much about dedication, discipline,            21
leadership, and perseverance. Their first-place finish is a measure of   22
their stalwart commitment to the sport, and their families, friends,     23
and coach, Tom Lombardo, can be incredibly proud of the players’         24
indomitable spirit; therefore be it                                      25

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
applaud the St. Edward High School football team on its brilliant          28
season and wish its members continued success in all of their future       29
endeavors; and be it further                                               30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the St. Edward High        32
School football team.                                                      33
