                       A RESOLUTION
                       Honoring Evelyn Prodoehl
          as a 2023 Division I State Cross Country Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to    2
Evelyn Prodoehl on placing first at the 2023 Division I State Cross      3
Country Championship; and                                                4
     WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Evelyn        5
Prodoehl has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well   6
as her mental and physical fortitude. As this year’s Division I State    7
Champion with a time of 17:23.77, a Fortress Obetz course record, she    8
has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for        9
success both in and out of the sports world, including courage,          10
determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good             11
sportsmanship; and                                                       12
     WHEREAS, A junior member of the Lakota West High School girls       13
cross country team, Evelyn Prodoehl has conscientiously applied          14
herself to the quest for excellence as an athlete, training and          15
practicing diligently in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and     16
again, she has risen to the occasion, maintaining her morale,            17
composure, and good sportsmanship, and she has gained the respect of     18
even her most determined rivals; and                                     19
     WHEREAS, Cross country is an event that requires exceptional        20
stamina and natural ability, and Evelyn Prodoehl is to be commended      21
for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her          22
athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity   23
that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it               24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           26
congratulate Evelyn Prodoehl as the champion at the 2023 Division I        27
State Cross Country Meet and extend best wishes for continued success;     28
and be it further                                                          29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Evelyn Prodoehl.           31
