A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Summit Country Day School girls soccer team
as the 2023 Division II State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Summit 2
Country Day School girls soccer team on winning the 2023 Division II 3
State Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 5
Summit Country Day School girls soccer team have combined talent and 6
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish 7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable 8
dedication, the Silver Knights have worked diligently toward attaining 9
ultimate proficiency in soccer, and as a result, they defeated a tough 10
Rocky River team by the score of 1-0 to win this year’s Division II 11
State Championship, their fourth state title in program history, and 12
finished the season with an impressive 20-1-3 record; and 13
WHEREAS, The Silver Knights’ achievements and leadership are a 14
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the 15
players, their families, their school, their community, and their 16
coach, Michael Fee. In leading his team to victory, Coach Fee has not 17
only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but 18
also instilled in each a valuable sense of determination, 19
perseverance, and camaraderie; and 20
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 21
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 22
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach 23
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have 24
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in 25
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 28
commend the Summit Country Day School girls soccer team on its 29
tremendous season and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s 30
finest citizens; and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Summit Country Day 33
School girls soccer team. 34
