SUMMARY
 Eliminates the ten-year limitation on utility supply contracts for county buildings.
DETAILED ANALYSIS
County utility supply contracts
The bill repeals the provision of law that limits certain county contracts for the supply of
light, heat, or power to county buildings to not more than ten years. Under current law, a board
of county commissioners can, at any time before or after a county building is completed, award
contracts for supplying the building with light, heat, or power for not more than ten years, with
an exception for joint purchasing contracts entered into with another political subdivision. By
repealing this limitation, the bill allows for utility supply contracts for county buildings to last
indefinitely.1
